The Red Gate Gallery

The Red Gate Gallery is a creative space designed to foster community and appreciation for the arts.

Red Gate exhibits artwork addressing contemporary social issues while providing viewers an opportunity to enjoy a religious space outside of a religious event. It is an initiative of the Mission and Outreach Committee at Wydown United Church, and is free and open to the public.

Red Gate co-founders Adrienne Outlaw, Sarah Moon, and Elena Piston opened the space in the fall of 2023 as a way to foster community through the arts with the tag “art, music and irl (in real-life) human connection.” One year and five exhibits later, they’ve seen the deep need for a safe space for creative expression. “People from all walks of life gather here for the shows. Progressive religious communities like ours can take such ideas of openness for granted. We want Red Gate to promote radical acceptance and critical creative thought among everyone,” says artist and church member Outlaw.

“She Who Carries You Within Her”
curated by Sukanya Mani & Saaba Lutzeler | May 8 – June 30, 2026

She Who Carries You Within Her centers on women and the enduring power of storytelling. From ancient times to now, women have carried, protected, and passed on their stories—through gesture, song, image, thread, and word. This exhibition asks: how have women shepherded their stories across generations and geography? What new forms can these stories take today? Through a range of materials and disciplines, the participating artists respond with works that hold both inheritance and innovation. They explore why it matters to tell one’s story now, and how storytelling can be an act of reclamation, continuity, and transformation. Together, their voices form a living archive of the feminine—layered, resilient, and ever-evolving.

An opening reception will take place on Friday, May 8, from 6–8 PM, with performances at 7 PM. The event is free and open to the public.

“Inner Vision”
curated by Jordan Geiger | August 21-November 7, 2026

Inner Vision explores what emerges when we turn our attention away from the outside world and toward the landscapes within. Bringing together artists working across backgrounds, identities, and media, the exhibition considers the many ways we experience inner knowing, reflection, and spiritual connection.

What do we see when we turn our attention away from the outside world and towards the world inside? How can the practice of the spirit travel with us wherever we go? What do we see when we close our eyes, in our dreams, or in quiet moments? How does the Divine, the World, or Nature communicate to us, and what images does it use?

Through a range of artistic approaches, Inner Vision invites viewers to consider the relationship between the visible and the invisible, the external and the internal, and the ways in which meaning, insight, and wonder arise from within.
